day 15: Zurich - Genf

the trip delivered against objectives and we had a great time. Unfortunately we are now back at home and the work starts again:

day 14 Special - Golf

Moon Palace
Lakes to Dunes
Polly wins

day 14: Cancun - Zurich

we almost did not leave Mexico that day. Someone in Cancun had forgotten to request a flight authorization from Mexico City before leaving on vacation. It was 5:30 pm when this was discovered. Find someone in the central aviation administration in Mexico City at this time!!!

day 13 Special: Tulum

Tulum is a great mixture between archeological site and a super white beach and nicely coloured water. don't miss it.
Don't take the "train" between the parking place and the entrance.

day 13 Special: Coba

Coba covers a vast area - rent a bike if you have little time otherwise walk.

day 13: Valladolid - Coba - Tulum - Cancun

Coba was good, Tulum great (but very well sign posted when coming from Coba - turn left when hitting the coastal highway), and the hotel strip of Cancun a disappointment. There we just had a coffee at Statbucks - that was it. The Radisson hotel in Cancun main city was ok. After picking up our golf clubs we arranged a final round of Golf in the morning of our departure day.

day 12 Special: Campeche

A very nice old town center with fortification.

Day 12: Campeche - Valladolid

the day of limited success
- we had to turn around as a road was simply to difficult and to slow to drive
- we missed one of the major Maya sites (Mayapan) because of a directions
- the hotel in valladolid was a bit low in standard. e.g. the tennis court was almost to dangerous to be used as it was covered in moss and slime.

day 11 Special: Edzna

Edzna - a big and beautiful site with Sacbeos (holy roads), an imposing 5story building and a vast waster channel system reaching as far as the 40km distant Rio Champoton
The famour 5story building with the enormous cresteria
Erich in the center of the main square
Polly descending from the main building
the sacbe
lots is still covered by the jungle
at the end of one of the sacbe's is the sub site la Vieja

day 11 Special: Kabah

day 11: Uxmal - Kabah - Campeche - Edzna - Campeche

ending up in a great hotel after a long day - we did miss the shorter road between Campeche and Edzna.

day 10 Special: Uxmal @ light and sound show

day 10 Special: Uxmal

Uxmal is on of the highlights of Maya Architecture in the "Puuc style"

Pyramid of the magician
Entry into the sanctum decorated with masks of Chac
view from the Nunnery Quadrangle towards the pyramid of the magician
parts of the Nunnery Quadrangle - a imposing structure without any symmetries
